Kids Today

Last year I taught kids and noticed how distractable they are.  They don't have patience and they're bored and they want to be entertained every minute.  This year, I think in the whole summer, there was only one like that.  Well, there were a few who just weren't old enough or savvy enough for the class material, but that's not what I'm talking about.  The contentment of doing something yourself, in your own way; an adaptive creativity that allows someone to draw or paint and try to match the image in their mind to the medium.... this is what I saw this year.

There were little kids truly appreciative of each other and not threatened by the success of others.  I heard them say to each other that their work was adorable and helping each other learn.

I've never gotten to a place where I didn't see hope for the human race but I didn't have much faith in these kids last year, and I see good things this time around.

Matthew Chapter 3

I'm still sad that I've left Genesis, on this tour with the Bible Bus at TTB.org.  We're well into Matthew and Dr. J. Vernon McGee has made it clearer to me than before that Matthew is the connection between the Testaments in that it was probably written in Hebrew, and establishes Jesus in the kingly line.  But it also takes Him out of the kingly line genetically and although it's all about His rightful kingship, John the Baptist as read in the MSG by Kelly Ryan Dolan at BibleGateway.com asks the crowd who are doing the fashionable thing, coming into the wilderness from provinces, cities and towns for a baptism by the latest fadish Wild Man, which reminds me of Rasputin, wonders if a little water on their snakeskin will make any difference.  I see John also as the popular ogre who can say anything at the moment because the crowd is behind him.  But he's not kidding.

It's your life which must change, not your skin.

And don't think you can pull rank by claiming Abraham as your father.

So Matthew makes it clear Jesus has every right to the kingship according to the lineage as it is passed down by Joseph, but posits John clearly bringing the anointing to a higher level that has nothing to do with genetics.

Descendants of Abraham are a dime a dozen.  

What counts is your life!

Is it green and blossoming?

Because if it's deadwood, it goes on the fire.

The Baptist and the baptism are just the beginning and the real story comes later with the work of Christ.

I'm sitting at work and suddenly old friends- people I've known a long time; neither is actually old.. come walking in.  Wow.  It's so good to see them, but they weren't looking for me, they were looking for monsters or something.

This Just In - Killing Kennedy

Today I solved the Kennedy thing.  I was looking on YouTube and I found out that Jackie shot him at point blank range, dropping the gun behind the seat as she climbed up on the car.  Oh, and he didn't die because he just took a few years off before going back to The White House as Jimmy Carter, and the driver of the convertible which used to have either three or two rows of seats in it, depending on which reality you're living, killed him with an explosive device positioned close to him.  The rifles were just used "in case."

I'm glad I got that cleared up.

So let me tell you what I've been doing lately.

I've heard about YouTube and I've used YouTube.  I've even taught a class a couple times on the subject of YouTube.  But I've just started watching it for real.

Every once in awhile I want to see a video on something and I've known for a long time that there is a place to find almost anything.  But this is different.

Did you know that all the famous people in history are actually the opposite sex of the one they portray?

Did you know that there are many clones and/or reptilians among us?  A similar term i have heard is robotoid.  I like that one too.

Did you know we're in the last days?  I've heard that one- not consistently, but here and there- my whole life.  I think there are always people who think that one and someday they will be right.

Do you believe in MK Utltra mind control and a flat earth?

Did you realize that big news events are staged?  My favorites are that the Pyramids were built by Napolean.  Who am I to say?  I wasn't there at the time.  Boy they really impressed me when I was there; despite the fact that a hawker stole my hat.  The years have dulled the memory.  I almost typed "tried to steal my hat" but he did.  I had the one day of use of it.

If you hear something enough; you will start to believe it- or at least, not disbelieve it as strongly as you did.  This is what I've learned from YouTube.

I'm not sure how much better this is for me than television; which is kind of like extolling the benefits of candy over soda; but I surely am entertained.
