There's this facebook thing going around where people are listing the concerts they've gone to. They list nine true ones and one fake one. But I want to try to list them all- or at least start a list and add to it when I remember. Counting people who come to Epcot, it could be a long list.

Please make sure and feed the light blue fish not more than 4 times daily. The reddish one can have as much food as he wants because he will probably pout and make everybody else miserable if you give him less than anybody else.

More Evita; Kierkegaard and Me
Report by Constantin Constantius
Fear and Trembling and Repetition
Kierkegaard's Writings, VI
Princeton University Press p. 154
Berlin has three theaters. The opera and ballet performances in the opera house are supposed to be groszartig [magnificent]; performances in the theater are supposed to be instructive and refining, not only for entertainment. I do not know. But I do know that Berlin has a theater called the Konigstadner Theater. Professional travelers visit this theater seldom, though more frequently- which also has its own significance- than they visit the congenial, more out-of-the-way places of entertainment, where a Dane has the opportunity to refresh his memory of Lars Mathiesen and Kehlet. When I came to Stralsund and read in the newspaper that Der Talisman would be performed at that theater, I was in a good mood at once. The recollection of it awakened in my soul; the first time I was there, it seemed as if the first impression evoked in my soul only a recollection that pointed far back in time.
There is probably no young person with any imagination who has not at some time been enthralled by the magic of the theater and wished to be swept along into that artificial actuality in order like a double to see and hear himself and to split himself up into every possible variation of himself, and nevertheless in such a way that every variation is still himself. Such a wish, of course, expresses itself only at a very early age.
Lake Worth has some theaters. They show movies for mass audiences and plays for the players and their downtown cronies. I do not know. But I do know that the Lake Worth Playhouse has facilitated an awakening for me. A Lancer has the opportunity to refresh his spirit. When I came here and read on the website that auditions for Evita were taking place, I was in a good mood at once. The recollection of it awakened in my soul a time when I was ten and acting meant something more to me.

Edith Wharton
I just finished Summer by Edith Wharton and continue to want to read all of her works. In this novel, she has a few lines of dialogue from people who aren't cultured; and it rang true to me. I think the banter back and forth that I have come to identify with her writing is a reflection of upper-class speaking and there are situations such as up on The Mountain where people live without beds and drink and don't speak much. But of course that might be my aristocratic bent since I've never been anyone but a rich white American guy.
Thinking about dialogue reminds me of YouTube's Jon Humanity pointing out the obvious but fundamental fact that we're all acting because we've watched so much acting. My cousin was talking about how people talk the other day and how that's different from how people speak in movies. And I was telling my uncle recently about a cache of wartime audio from prisoners of war from the Edwardian age. Speech changes quickly now that we're listening to so much of it from outside our own neighborhoods.
Maybe that's why I like Wharton. There are- especially in other books- so many great lines of dialogue said by snappy people with nice vocabularies, but the knowledge of those characters stays on the surface from what they say- but reveals the icebergs underwater in her non-dialogue passages.
And that's what we're doing; we humans. We use speech to construct our selves but there are truer ones devoid of words; underneath.

Good Friday
There's a Facebook post I've made several times. and since I really like my own jokes, I like it a lot.
The phrase "Good Friday" was the Medieval period's one lone attempt at irony.

Chipotle- Two Days
So I went to Chipotle yesterday and then again today. Yesterday I had the guacamole and maybe because of Professor Spira didn't think it was needed today. Both days I enjoyed seeing an old friend- the chip bag; with A Chip Chat on it,
Have you ever found the One?
You know, the chip of all chips. The sultan of salt. It can happen at any time.
You're chomping at lunch and then BAM. There's a delightfully salty chip surprise. Why does that happen?
Well, that chip was probably cut, fried, and finished with a squeeze of lime and some salt just a few moments ago. We make batch after batch in our kitchens, by hand, throughout the day, sometimes a single chip gets lucky.
Maybe those salty little imperfetions, arent' for you, but we'd be lying if we said we didn't search for that golden beauty ourselves once in a while. As the say in the old country, treat thyself.
Alright- It's not as cute without the font changes, but I like it. I know what they mean.
One time I was feeling poor and the manager gave me a free meal. They forgot to give me the guacamole and the manager noticed that and gave me some. It was like getting two meals.
Another time I found a 20 in line. I waited to see if anybody came back but they didn't.

How Nice - Internet
Libraries are great. The Internet works here. (I, however, think the I should not be capitalized.)
At Mom's the password changed- according to the sketchily produced monthly "newsletter;" predictably rather light on news. So for a few hours, I couldn't connect even though I tried to guess what other similar passwords they might have meant to type... then I used the old one and it worked. But it's still not strong- but stronger in the living room than other places.
Thanks Palm Beach County Library System- I'm not sure that's your actual title but I've always liked you, and I was proud to work for Florida's Orange County Library System- together, you've taught me all I know- not really.

Eau Palm Beach
Today I went by the hotel again to see what the corner was up to, with the Chinese President in town. I noticed the actual name of the place- different than what I thought. And, there were no Chinese or American flags on the guardrails. There were about one hundred I thought, last time. Instead there were hundreds of people who looked Chinese, and some riot police. The people were in red shirts.

Trump in Town with the Chinese
Tonight I went across the Lantana bridge at a beautiful sunset. Near there, there are barricades and screens and guardrails temporarily erected for the Chinese visit to what used to be the Ritz Carlton. now Eau de Palm Beach, I think.
I hope some important people pop over to John G's or for some ice cream.
I liked seeing all the Chinese and American flags and Welcome posted there. I notice there and at Mar-A-Lago they just let cars get pretty close to buildings- there's got to be some other places to meet where closing streets could be more feasible.
I suppose it's a conspiracy.
Supposedly my Dad saw the two Kennedys driving around in a convertible back in the day, the other time there was a Palm Beach President.
Tonight, the cops were motioning us to turn left and mad we weren't driving faster. Well, guess what? It's disconcerting to be seeing somebody tell you to go while the light is red.

Balanced Diet My Eye
All the people who tell us that we need a balanced diet are fat as pigs in troughs or else dried up bitter things. Has it occurred to anyone that zoo animals and pet animals and farm animals do best when they eat five ingredients their whole life- pretty much the same day to day.
Lookee heere Carl, you got yer carbohydrit and yer protein and yer blah blah blah...
