Proverbs 30:20 - 31:31

Thirty one chapters in Proverbs.  Mother's instructions to son.  Bathsheba to Solomon?  Type of woman to seek for a wife.

Wife wants to go where husband is going.  Ephesians used, (and 1 Corinthians)

She eats and drinks, wipes her mouth and says they don't sin.

God hasn't learned anything from our generation.

Ants are people not strong.

Coney too weak to burrow so live in rocks.  Unclean.  Feeble, hyrax long hair short tail round ears

Locust leaderless Joel and Rev

Spider she, or lizard, low thing that can live among palaces and tapestries and finery.

2nd group
Lions not scared, just go straight to wear they want- not pussyfooting.  General Stonewall- Jackson, unmoveable.

Greyhound run strong

Mountain goat, climber

Chapter 31 Solomon?  King Lemuel mothe's taught him.  AKA Jedidiah, beloved of Lord.  Lemuel means devoted to the Lord, so Solomon's pet name by his mother Bathsheba.

Bathsheba not named in geneology of Matthew because it wasn't her sin.

Dedicate self to God, don't give strength to women, not wine or strong drink.  It's for medicine and cheer.  Drink make leader forget Law.  Drink for heavy heart and poverty and misery.  Use mouth for judging and helpiing, not drinking.

Time

Circling back in time to one of the subjects, the subject?  That I started talking about when I started this blog;

We get to time.

I remember a painful conversation when I and a few family members just couldn't connect.  They hadn't brought it up and they weren't thinking about it, but it pained me that they couldn't understand any rationale for a seven day week, but it didn't seem curious to them at all.

Gentle Reader, let me explain.
There is something 3 o'clock AM which is like every 3 AM, but there isn't anything Sundayish about Sunday except it's placement between Saturday and Monday which are just one way of dividing a month.  In other words, instead of telling me there are four weeks in a month, what's the reason there are four.  A day and a month make sense.  And so does a year, but the rest are constructs.  We could have three "weeks" of ten and yes, that would be different, but it wouldn't be less real.

Anyway, that's just one example of the times I tried to talk and people just look at me, give me an arbitrary fact, not a real fact, and think that's enough.

Yes, I know there are 60 minutes in an hour, but is there anything about that number that would keep us from using 50 or 40 or 25?  Well, no- not in my way of thinking.  So, if you can't join the conversation, why are you talking?

Okay.  Here.  It's like when you type in to Google- why do robins sing and instead of a reason, you get a Yahoo message board with a few responses like this:

I like when robins sing.
Robins sing in Spring.
I was wondering, does anybody know when robins sing.
Robins like most birds, often sing.
Hey, can anybody say why robins are good singers?

Hello.
Stick to one subject at a time, and use that subject to try and find a reason.  So often, people get off track and I can see that so easily.  There's got to be a way for me to use this gift, because it's not clear to them, and it's painful and obvious to me,

Here are some notes from what this little video had to say.

Babylon took from Sumer the 4000 year old system we now use for time, which is also used for angles, division of circle, then Greeks used it, and I guess all three divided the day into 360 parts.  But we don't take it that far.

That makes me think how my life would be different if I thought of a day as a 36 "minute" block which came around 10 times.

Egyptians divided days into 24 hours.

So, I ask- what relationship is there between 24 and the 36/60/360 system already in place?  Is this why we feel like although we're circling here, it's a little wobbly?

7 day week from Babylon? This is so unknown to anybody, they just talk and talk, and repeat each other.  I've got to get to what they did in the East.  That will fill in some gaps.  There's got to be a Chinese and an Indian system, and maybe a Persian system before Alex.

Feb a festival, March beginning of year, but then why Janus looking back and forward?  Even here, there's a problem.  No matter how often it's repeated.

Quintillus became July and many followed, naming months for themselves, but only August also stuck.

1582 Gregorian calendar brought New Years back to Jan in many cultures.
1752 England and Am got there.  Or, is it- here?

St Augustine Lighthouse

Today, truckless, I'm remembering driving around with complete freedom, around and around obviously quite close to the lighthouse. But wondering where it is!

There's an old timehighway, and some state land, and some County Land, and some neighborhoods. And here we are, looking for something that's meant to be seen, and, be seen from far away, and we know we're right next to it. And we still have to search and search.

Ugly on Purpose

In listening to as many versions of Think Of Laura as I can find, I discover something.  The intro is ugly on purpose.  Somebody thought the song wasn't long enough or too repetitive or too soft so they added something hard on the front- Christopher Cross doesn't do anything like that in concert.

Somebody thought that in the short time of the intro, few people would change the station, and then when the soft rolling and repetitive phrases arrived it would be soothing and add some drama resolution and interest.

Received a call

to schedule a job interview in Delray.

Ha.

Thoughts On Scott Adams and Real Coffee

I discovered Scott Adams with a YouTube video about recognizing cognitive dissonance.  And I thought he was so great, and compassionate- explaining how we sometimes don't make sense in our thinking when a circumstance doesn't fit our worldview.

I think his video came up near others I had listened to, about taking care of oneself, and dealing with narcissists and thinking positive, and rainbows and such.

Boy was I impressed.

Then I discovered Real Coffee with Scott Adams and watched many videos.  Compassionate is not a word I would use to describe him any longer.  Yet, he is perfectly happy helping everybody get what they want- because he can get what he wants and it's a win win.  I guess the touchy feely form of compassion that never works but only makes the empathizer feel bad, is not something in which he will wallow.

Good.

So here are some notes from recent episodes:

More often than not, people disagree with business decisions, of course people disagree with government ones, and we don't really know what's going on there.  Press is partisan or stupid, and who has even studied what the press says?  In other words, this incessant complaining about what the government does, and before that, the incessant fawning- or more accurately, a complete ignorance of what the government did with some kind of feeling of smugness that since I voted for him and he's a little darker than me aren't I great and isn't he doing a good job....   is stupid.

Never thought he would dress as Santa

Personally I never thought Trump even wanted a wall, but was using it to get attention.  Maybe he wanted one all along, but also maybe he is just trying to get attention any way he can in order to accomplish other things, or just attention at any cost.  I used to think he didn't have a plan but just wanted attention.  I don't think that any more.

man it makes me so mad that people think they know anything at all about Syria.

How nice that everybody has studied up on Syria and become an expert in the last three days.

Now, Dems are wanting war there, and wanting the Pres to listen to the military industrial complex?  Wow, personal distaste for one man is making them be everything they hate.
