Reading that there are Neanderthal genes among us, I smile. Nobody's been able to accomplish a genocide, maybe. Maybe there's not one group that's ever been totally eliminated. Sure there are horrible examples of trying to get rid of people for no reason but maybe that's never happened completely. I wonder if I have any of those genes. Once someone told me that the concept of a gene is subjective; deciding where it ends and where it begins, at least. So do you ever look in the mirror and see something older than people?
