Thorsday

So, people, we are on to Thorsday.  This is the only day name in English, based on a particular deity's name, that I believe has retained or regained any cultural significance, except for Saturday's name which I'll expound upon another day because I think of it as a fun caveat worthy of another post.  As with the others, Tuesday, Wednesday,  Friday and Saturday, the significance was lost long ago somewhere between the Roman/Germania war and cold war, and the homogenizing Medieval period, but Thor regained some relevance with the Marvel character, which was in style when I was young and is back again thanks to Disney movies.
