Do You Hear What I Hear?

Vanessa Williams sounds great. I don't know about the Swahili or whatever it is behind her.

I do appreciate the fact that they didn't try to turn it into a gospel song.

It certainly can be a good gospel song, but not everybody is a gospel singer. And that's perfectly wonderful.

Tell it like it is

First Eurythmics of the season.

Winter Wonderland has a good sound, but isn't it a little slow?

Couldn't they or she do something a little more medieval sounding and be really awesome?

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

I heard it for the first time this season, by a girl group.

I'm wondering if anyone has done the obvious, which is to change the lyric.

It's very likely that someone would cause the most famous reindeer name of all.

And conversely, if as assumed, the other names are familiar, why is the question being asked?

When it was a marketing Ploy, and the name Rudolph was first assigned to a reindeer, The Lyricist wanted to know if people heard of him.

But now, people should say

You may know
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen
Comet, and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen.
But I know you recall the most famous reindeer of all.

Taste of the season

Well, I haven't had my eggnog yet.

Once a year, I have a sip of eggnog, and it's very nice. I especially like cold eggnog things, like milkshakes.

And, then I'm done.

I don't need to finish it.

Just a sip.
That's enough.

Did I mention what made me think of eggnog?

Jose Feliciano's Feliz Navi dad came on the radio.

I was so happy to hear it this year. But, completely realize that I'd be sick of it before it ended.

Yep.

And then, as I went to record this....

On the radio, there was Jewel.

Listening to Real Coffee with Scott Adams

I realize that with his persuasion techniques, I'm being persuaded.

But he says this.

So many people are talking only to persuade or complain.  And he isn't complaining.

He admits when someone he doesn't like seems to be right.
He goes ahead and throws out ideas when he's not sure about them yet.
He's honest when he doesn't know something.

So nice to hear the message of Christ on the radio

Once a year it's okay, and even though we've got a system including paganism, the songs of the season reach a bunch of people.

Trump derangement syndrome

I'm so sick of these people who loved him on The Apprentice, but now I think he's evil.

He's exactly the same.

If somebody likes in before he became president, no, what I mean is if somebody liked him before they thought he was a politician, then they should like him now.

Or if you think businessmen should be a politician should be, you've got a personal problem.

it's actually cold today

Started talk to this girl, but she's got Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

So, maybe I don't have to stay glued to the phone to avoid her thinking I hate her or love her.

Melissa Etheridge Christmas song

 In Best Buy

Seems weird but sounds good.

Part of this nutritious breakfast

This happy attractive lady
Comes into the McDonald's

She's eating pumpkin pie

That she brought with her

And, says
After all, kids eggs and milk
And vegetables

Christmas decorations

Continuing my lack of Need For Stuff, I enjoyed walking through Kmart last night.

I'm going to be getting rid of my Christmas decorations, or at least relocating them, or giving them to Manny. But it was so nice to see the Jaclyn Smith Christmas collection. Paragraph

Recorded on Thanksgiving

Recently I've noticed my vibrato slower than I thought when I listen back- and I'm trying to get over the fear of sounding bad-  so I recorded myself very stuffed up and with a little difficulty taking deep breaths:

You know, I kind of like it.

I guess with excuses I'm easier on myself or is it that since I knew I was handicapped I was just paying attention more?

Who knows.

Here goes:

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

 On Facebook,
And at Cresthaven, and at Jody's,

I heard that Diana Ross was going to be at the parade.

For some reason, the parade kept showing throughout the day, and I got to see the performance.

And today I hear the controversy that she saying without a microphone.

Actually, everybody knows they're lip-syncing, so she lives thing without a microphone.

Now, we all know she can't do any wrong, so

Mannheim Steamroller

Great show at the kravis center tonight.

I didn't stick around and explore too much, but it was fun going to get to our box.

Sitting up on the highest tier, it was fun to look down at the plebs.

Right after we mention the words Kennedy Space Center, there's a huge space shuttle on a screen.

There was also a connection to Arcanum.

The surprises were Feliz Navidad, which was a little slower than I expected. And Hallelujah Chorus, which I didn't even recognize at first.

I was trying to figure out which box I'd want if I was there all the time.

I don't think I've eset in a box.

It reminds me of Lincoln, which isn't that great of an association.

fiction or nonfiction

Scott Adams said yesterday

In not so simple terms

Democrats read fiction, And jump to conclusions.

I would add that theists, believe in reason more than circumstance.

When I worked at Barnes &Noble, it became clear  after the publication of The Celestine Prophecy, that the problem with Western civilization is forcing the world into two categories.

Really

 Not a shiver exactly

But the Saltair and
The darkening sky
Brought a reaction
Close to 1

November's here.

Stayed near the soda machine

 Mostly,

But sometimes closer to the counter

He did his best to smack them
When they dance just out of his reach
Always near the ground

Dancing back and forth

He almost got them

Over and over

For about an hour

I had lunch today

with people who absolutely know that Donald Trump is an evil racist and that we should accept anybody walking from Honduras to the United States with no question at all.

They also have no idea what our immigration policy is; or anything about what it used to be like.

They are also very smart.

I am very confused and concerned.

There are millions of these people.

Stop signs in the future

Will be a combination, a flashing red lights, and barricades that lower so you can't drive through without stopping.

Otherwise, people will be so distracted, that they don't notice them. And, the barricades will be added once everyone is so entitled that they think they got to the stop sign first, before anybody going in another Direction got to theirs.

New things about my truck.

I enjoyed finding new things, without using the owners manual, on my Fusion.

Well, I just found one on my new Ford. There's a way to open the back window, and have it slide down.

Cool.

FOE

Here's a snipping from my city; with the oracle of Delphi and the Library of Alexandria- which reminds me of two places I want to spend more time.

First Fast

Didn't plan it.

Didn't time it.

But as November 2nd dawned and I was in think of the free food search; it occurred to me that I wasn't hungry and freeness was no reason.

So, I sat on the couch.

Hmmmm....

I'm not sure how to evaluate that; a mixture of self-determination and inaction.  So, I'll just write what happened.

Two Fridays ago, I could feel the smoke going to the back of my throat.  I was wondering why my table companion kept mentioning it; because that just kept bringing it to my attention repeatedly, and helped no one; but as I kept watching the two-pulled-together tables of proud smokers exhaling in unison, proudly; I couldn't help but get drawn in.

I don't think we were doing badly at trivia, but I'm not sure; not being there to win, really.

But, as the complaining continued, I kept getting more and more annoyed.  My annoyance shifted from the messenger to the culprits; lounging there together, lighting and re-lighting with their own rhythm; but exhaling together- and I could just feel my throat getting raw.

The annoyance of my throat feeling got worse and worse and for the next two weeks, I had an excess of phlegm and pain in my throat; particularly in the evening.  I couldn't believe how long it lasted.  At first, when my cousins were in town, it just affected my voice.  My little one told me that I always talked like that; after all, he had never heard me speak any other way.  But then the symptoms went to a more normal feeling and I didn't want to eat.

A delicious carrot cake, some Halloween candy, an Indian buffet and some lime and orange juice- that's what I ate for a couple days.  But then, I really didn't want anything- at all.

I liked the Reese's white chocolate ghosts- the first one was the best; and I liked the Hershey's nuggets as always- but I just didn't want anything more.  And that included Subway for which I have a coupon- Jersey Mike's which probably sent me something free, and even Chipotle.  So if I don't want it, why would I eat it.

Part of this is determining what I want- and when.

Throughout- I was drinking distilled water and when I went to get more at the store closed for rodent activity, I went to Winn-Dixie.  The produce there is generally double the price and less fresh than my favorite produce stand.  I bought some cut fruit and some distilled water.  The gentleman cashier introduced himself- BB, and said he was trying not to think of negative things because it blocked the light; and got in the way of the image.

So, now- I'm in the lieberry getting audition materials.  Camelot.
