This is interesting branch office location. I just finished Herod. Carol, Ed, friend Val, Linda, and Leslie were in attendance. Once again I was shocked it was so many people in the audience for me.

This McDonald's is interesting in that it is an upscale neighborhood. And it has an interesting parking lot. And beautiful palm trees everywhere.

The four-way stop, between the shopping center and the McDonald's parking lot, almost gave me a problem. Car is coming out of the upscale shopping center really think that they should have the right of way, which isn't that surprising here in Boca.



But that's not how it works. Once again, 4-way stops don't work in America. Everybody assumes they got their first!

Remember this day, Herod

I'm on my way to the Boca Black Box. I'm hurtling down Lyons Road at Clint Moore Boulevard. I hardly ever go to Boca. But here I am. There were only two shows of Jesus Christ Superstar. And my mom had a point. It's not worth driving this far for such a small role. Or is it the best thing in my life for the past 3 years?

Is this my first solo since 9th grade? Why yes it is. Did I do a good job? Why yes I did.

Isn't it funny that I was selected to sing a tenor solo? And that's the reason I stopped doing solos isn't it? When I wasn't a tenor anymore, I just stop singing. But I believe people can come full circle. I believe people can start again. I believe I have done for shows and I'd like to do 400. And two years ago I wouldn't have done any. So here I am.

Do I have enough experience to play King Arthur in Camelot? Why I know I don't. Does that mean I want audition?

That remains to be seen. One show.

And then I'm just an actor without a script.



You know what that will make me?

At a new trivia place. Dixie Grill & Bar we're getting ready to play trivia. This place has great food. Fun times. And good dessert. I'm trying to remember how many times I've been here. One time I was by myself and Aaron did the trivia. Another time I was here with Leslie and Erin and another time I was here with just me and Erin.

I was amazed last night. In the audience were people cheering. I could hear my name very loud, and often.

There were so many people there that I knew. And it wasn't close by to where I know them from. Lake Worth Playhouse people included Shaina, Adam, Lenore, Lily, G, Cole and Dave.  Kathy and Maria were also there.. There were so many I might have forgotten somebody but I am still grateful to them.


It was amazing to get a role with out auditioning. It was amazing that Ed tried so many times to get ahold of me. It is amazing to meet an entire new company of wonderful theatre people.



And I want to be better on Sunday.



I think I will.

Bacon Egg McMuffin

So I have a new best friend. Today I substituted bacon on the Egg McMuffin. So Ronald is no longer my red-headed step-child, but my BFF. I added extra cheese but the delicious cheesy flavor didn't really change so I think this is a one-time deal.

I am so glad that I discovered that McDonald's cheese is delicious. Because it is shaped like some other cheese that is not delicious, I wasn't sure.

I might try the white cheddar again. Perhaps that style of cheese would benefit from a larger quantity.

I thought I was so smart.

The other day, I figured out how to quickly read all the words to my song and have the text type it instantly and to it on my phone where I could see it easily even when the phone was off.

Hey, I thought I would try it with blogger. It worked great until I went to save and post the.

It's not working perfectly. It doesn't understand semicolon but it doesn't understand, and period.

I mean my satellite office on Jog and Boynton Beach. Abuela is coaxing Junior into eating things that aren't sweet. I remember my experience at McDonald's, when I had to be coaxed into eating. I wonder if we would be healthier if we only eight things we liked instead of being coaxed into liking more things.

Now that I know I can talk to blogger.com, I will probably be posting more often. It's so convenient not to have to type but I don't want to lose the skill.

Me and King Herod

I'm drained.

We haven't had many rehearsals, but that and the new job got me tired.


They are both things I want to do; and I am still so surprised and happy to have been called in to play King Herod.  What a great song that is; and there are so many ways to do it.

I found one version on YouTube; out of about 20 that I watched, that really impressed me a couple weeks ago.  Today, it did nothing for me.

I have explored snake-like movements of the head and neck; not moving the eyes but circular motions of the neck- slow-  and the fox-like nature of Herod- always thinking and hiding something- but that involves eye movements- and then there are some other choices for motion- a bobble-head movement- and crazy eyes or very active eyes to show that there's a jumbled mess inside of the guy.


One problem I have right now is not remembering instructions.  I wish I had them in writing.  It's a process; and it's a two-minute stagetime.  So it is not like energy has to be sustained very long.

Actually, objectively- and not as a role I have to play- it's really a crowd-pleaser no matter what.  There are so many directions to take the song that as long as one is chosen; everybody's going to like it.


But I have a real trouble with being good.  I want to be great.  But of course that's a pride thing- and not in a good way.  I hear bad music all the time- by musicians and others- and it doesn't really seem like the world is a worse place because of it.  Nobody likes all songs.  Nobody likes all singers.  It's just that I value my opinion and I want more music to be "better" and I honestly believe that my likes and dislikes can help.

So here I am; with a whole new company of people that I've met- a whole new stage.

I haven't entered a new post or commented on a post or looked at this blog since I had that dream with a scary moment in it about a YouTube video; a video that doesn't exist or make much sense but in dreamstate felt real enough...

How you been?

I've been continuing to watch YouTube videos, but not quite as much as before.  I have a job now, and as a professional working man I have only 20 hours a day available now for your content.  (I'm talking to YouTube and my Blog as if they're one thing... which I guess they are... Google owns both.)

I really like the new job; getting to see people in their homes and help them with a smile.

Of course it's kind of like the wicked witch handing them an apple; or feels that way, as I study Ehret and other YouTube posters that bemoan the SAD (Standard American) diet.

I'm starting to feel that old people's reticence to eat might be their body's  last gasp at trying to get them to fast; trying to get them to heal.  But I am not sure about fasting.

It just seems like it's a common denominator of alternative health ideas that actually makes sense.


Right now I'm thinking of The Snake Diet, and John the Baptist- oops... I mean John Rose, and Vegetable Police and Boyee Nataraja.  But I've assembled nutritionists with varying recommendations and just like mainstream nutritionists- somebody's missing some big part of the puzzle.

I wish I had the fortitude to understand or even read through the work of John Rose when he talks about pieces of the puzzle- I understand needs that are brought about by what damage we've done to our bodies and needs brought about by what we are...  and so I'm leaning to.... I need fruits and vegetables because I've always needed fruits and vegetables since the days I could leave milk.... but I also need some of the other stuff I've been eating, just because I've been eating it.  And the goal would be to switch from what I'm eating to eating more fruit and vegetables... not to say I can't have this and I can't have that.

So that's where I am with diet and nutrition and YouTube.


I know there are nutrition experts who have written books.  But they don't agree either.

It's easier for me to listen to eight minutes of a point of view and compare it to another video of seven minutes than to read whole books by people that disagree.

I wonder about experts anyway.

I've met lots of experts in college and they were some of the dumbest people I've ever known.  And some of them were absolutely awesome.  I'm thinking of the man who lectured yesterday- Dr. Nathan Lane- not an actor, as far as I know... and Dr. Corrine Patton

That was a special time in my life; but it would have been; no matter where I would have been.  And I looked back with fondness at it yesterday, as I listened to a lecture with university students, and university faculty, in a little room right next to where I now work.

There is a violin studio in between both rooms.

Yesterday I was able to play King Herod with a bunch of crazy kids and another professor brilliant also; Christine Barclay.  I know she's brilliant because I think she's brilliant.  And maybe brilliant is an opinion that I'm getting used to; just like enough is an opinion I'm getting used to.

I am so sick of being told constantly that I don't have enough.

I have enough.

I'm enough.

It's enough.

We have too much.  And if you are reading this and you can't see that; I'm sorry but you're wrong.

A YouTube video in my dream

I was watching a video prepared by a truther and it freaked me out- this is in my dream, not an actual video- and when the music in the video got creepy I wished myself awake.

But I can still get the chills when I think about it.

It's always a good idea to try to stay still a minute while awakening and go over a dream before sitting up- if you want to remember it.  But this one I wanted to shake off.



It's a black and white video- made up by the truther- with some standard grey landscape or stock shot.  And he has found an actual audio- a little poor in quality- of Richard Burton.  And that's playing as the words are being shown in white.  It's some clip that doesn't mean very much but the truther is interpreting it as something to do with a woman watching in the woods meaning that Richard Burton has confessed to killing Michael Jackson.  The white words fade in and out and reassemble to show what he's actually referring to in code.

I wonder if they met each other.
