Today at Family Dollar

Sometimes the atmosphere in these places is so oppressive.

But today, upon entering, both busy lines parted to let me inside.

The customers were chatting, chuckling,  and  the entertainment going on at the front of one of the lines was spectacular.

The ladies, who knew they were cute, were using coupons or something, and giving the cashier such a hard time.

But they knew they were doing it, and he was laughing and the other customers were laughing.

And after a long wait, everybody was still kind of in a good mood, but the poor cashier needed to go take a break.

Florida rains

Mini hurricanes
Not dangerous
Blow the cover off the car
And remind me of
My life last year

And the year before

And the difference..

Text to speech

Yesterday, I dictated the phrase worked with twice, and text-to-speech typed Puerto Rico spice.

Well played, text-to-speech, well played.

Paradise

Sitting underneath a shaded awning, watching the water ripple around the mangroves with a pretty girl across the table, I wonder what it is that people want.

There's so much discontent, but why?

I went to an Anglican service yesterday. And the atmosphere brought in to view the smallness of man.

It's easy to go see a show, whether it's in a church or not, and witness the whole thing like an audience member.

In the darkness of a shadowy cavern, or in the candlelit flicker of a cathedral, or sometimes under a Starlit sky or surrounded by sand and waves, we finally see it.

We see where we fit Within the whole picture.? happiness is wanting what you h ave.

If we talk about TV the way we talk about nutrition

Watching these very large people coming to Chipotle, it occurs to me that we eat too much.

As amazing as that sounds, people haven't figured that out.

Well, I say, goes one theory, that since I stopped watching Mysteries and started watching only cartoons I'm feeling much better.

Another person says that cartoons are good for you once you're 18 but they're terrible for child ren.

Somebody else says that they have no problems in their life, and they weren't cartoons everyday. They stopped when they were a teenager, and then they started again.

Hortense says that she's never watched cartoon in her life, yet she still has very ill health.

Tina is thrilled with her life in the way it turned out, and she watches a well-balanced program of all channels.

Rodger doesn't have TV, but he watches Sports in sports bars two times a week! That's probably why he's still helping.

Lindsey love soap operas, but since she started working at night and has to sleep during the day, her health has failed her. I'm sure it's because she doesn't watch soap operas anymore.

Monty is so healthy. It's because he only watches TV and black and white.

Separated at Birth, twins have been fed the same diet, and the same education, and the same familial structure, but with different TV schedules they've turned out completely different.

What if, rather than the programming that one watches, it's the length of time one spends watching TV that affects one's hell?

Conversations

Listened to Johnny Mercer and Bobby Darrin sing a duet on Legends radio, and then 2 days later talked to someone about Johnny Mercer songs.

I'm ashamed to say I was mixing up Johnny Marks, Rudolph, with Johnny Mercer but Johnny Mercer is fabulous.

It's enough to make me go back to Spotify, and update my Duets playlist.

Today, I was talking about mixing zinc oxide and coconut oil for a cheaper, better, and easy to make sunscreen.

The same lady told me about the wonders of magnesium. And the snake diet guy agrees, I think.

Another client told me about B complex, not just B vitamins.

Back to Ehret

It's so clear now.

Looking around, there's so few people who aren't storing more than they are eliminating.

This morning I watched a video about rats, who will eat cheesecake, sausage, and something else, I don't remember, until the point of obesity.

The same TED Talk said that people do the same thing when confronted with unlimited food.

 .

Isn't it clear that we eat too much?

It's not the only problem in the world but it certainly is one of our own making.

Something happened, and it's not just people, but even birds who aren't paying attention.

Flying too low and almost getting hit what's the other explanation?

I thought it was humans, but maybe it's all  life, but nobody knows where they are anymore.

It's the phenomenon of disincarnation.

Vegetable police, you got me!

Back to diet,
It seems I've turned the corner, but backwards.
For the longest, I didn't want fried food. At least, not deep fried food.

But here I am at K. FC

Staff meeting

I consider today's meeting a success, All Things Considered.

Wow, text-to-speech thinks that All Things Considered is a show, not a phrase that named the show.

Today, two people found out that we don't just feed everybody, who can't pay. That's a big deal. That's something people should know.

Also Today, we talked about people who don't want to pay 30 or $40. And somebody found out that meals can be purchased for a dollar at Dollar Tree, Aldi,  Save-A-Lot, and somebody said, even Publix, although I don't think that's true.

It's probably good for people who serve food for a living to know something about . food.

I think it's good.

Traffic

There was that movie in which everybody drove, secretly hoping to hit someone just to have a human touch.

And just now on Congress Avenue, some black SUV drove like a maniac, almost hitting me but in such a way that it seemed like me and him were driving against the world.

Me in the world's one and only driving oven, driving around with no air conditioning and cutting in front of people just to go. Just to get some air circulating.

It's funny how we think we know what other people think.

That person's driving slow because he's an idiot. That person's driving fast because they're young. Idiocy and age are opinions anyway.

Lizards

Those fat curly tailed lizards, that used to not be so common here, and move down south and are everywhere here.

And looking at them today, I thought about those other animals that respond to humans in particular ways.

A rat will run from you. A squirrel seems to know that we think it's cute. And these lizards don't care.

I'm not going to do but if we started killing every lizard Insight, will they start to run away from us in fear?

There one was, looking up at me and seemed completely conscious that I was a living being so much taller than him. And I, can imagine such a thing. Sure they're buildings a lot bigger than me, but I can't even conceive of giants walking around so high above me. But he's used to it.

To the point of distraction

It's odd to be back at the library, and typing a post rather than speaking into the phone.

The keyboard here is the kind I'm used to- not the laptop at work; so I can actually type rather than typing really slowly; careful not to bump two keys at once.  It has such a soft touch, and doesn't make a sound, so I don't know fast enough if I've typed what I've meant and so I type so slowly it's distracting.  Of course, what I'm typing into is an Excel spreadsheet, and it's being used poorly- to substitute for a database.  And then there's the mouse; which is so sensitive, it automatically selects things without my permission.

I've tried to change some of these things, because I think some of them are software; but I swear Microsoft tutorials are so confusing to me.  Who writes them?   YouTube videos are much more practical, but the search feature in YouTube is crap.  Gotta search in Google I guess and then watch the video at YouTube.  Aren't they the same company?  If Bing uses the Google search analytics, why won't YouTube.  YouTube is so targeted.  It shows me the videos it wants me to see; but in Google I can pretty much find what I want- unless it involves capitalization.

So here I am typing, and so I'm using semi-colons and dashes, that I don't use with text-to-speech.

I suppose in the future we might return to Roman letters with few if any capitals, few if any punctuation and, what do you think?  Less vocabulary or more?

At work we're using Microsoft email, Google calendar, Excel online and a clunky database.  And I doubt if the database or the spreadsheet are ever backed up.  Maybe that's good, unless I get blamed for deleting the spreadsheet- but I swear!  I didn't!  I didn't!  Maybe we'll combine some of those locations/services/systems and have less variables.

Maybe we won't.

It's hard when someone makes themselves indispensable.

The victim consciousness is so thick.  They're not just victims, they're people, and they need to contribute.  We're not just saviors; we're people, and we need to think and work differently than someone with a red sash in a stained glass window.

To new McDonald's opportunities

Of course I meant to as in the number, but I'm going to let that go.!

Today I saw an ad for Incredibles 2 in the window of McDonald's. And of course it reminds me of the time when McDonald's Had Disney tie ends with Happy Meals.

I also remember McDonald's in the Parks, there were McDonald's french fries!

It made so much sense to have that wagon with genuine McDonald's fries in frontierland.

U Know,  right behind the storefront  where several entrances Led Led to the same place. the restaurantosaurus was very cute in Animal Kingdom. But supposedly negotiations between McDonald's and Disney broke down, and that's why McDonalds didn't feature Disney characters for a long time.

But with the long-awaited Incredibles 2, the stalemate seems to be over.

Also, here on my smartphone, I just saw an ad for McCafe bottled drinks.

What a great idea. When I first tried McDonald's iced coffee, I didn't know they become a staple of my diet.

And I still think Duncan's is better, but maybe not. They're both very good.

I think it would be very good for me to let the text-to-sp and it's bakeries  determine what words are capitalized , among other things. eech

People I've met

The other day waiting for a little time to pass, after some intakes, I met Magda on a park bench. She was smoking, and I was choking, but I tried to be nice about it.

I think she had no idea, that I hated the smell. I said something like remember when people didn't mind other smoking? And I knew I could move if I wanted to, but I just sat there and talked to her.

She's from Poland. And she knows Italian. And when her husband came to get her, she resumed her life of misery. But for a moment, with me and the Dollar employee, you know, the only one who knows how to do anything, but will never get a promotion, she was happy and she was social and she was fine.

We talked about the difference between Italy and Vienna. But of course the difference is the same as you head north out of Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Scandinavia or whatever.

You pass the dirty picturesqueness, and move north into clean. And it's nice, to be clean, sometimes.

It's also nice, not to have a family owning a restaurant mad at you cuz you don't want to eat four times too much in one meal.

There's a line somewhere, where cleanliness starts and uptightness starts.

And I think of those paintings that the gentlemen brought back from their trips abroad, hung up in stuffy English houses, and remembered the picturesqueness of Italy.

I remember the picturesqueness of Italy, as a place where every turn of the eye yielded a postcard perfect image.

Somebody in the office just came back from Flore and it looks like she didn't want to leave.

That day I also met a lady, who has a sense of humor and is going blind.

She's hesitant, and she doesn't know why, but I do, to contact organizations that help the blind. She doesn't want to admit that she's one of them, and going to be one of them. She thinks they can help her once she's really blind, but I want her to get help easing into that transition.

A single person, isolated in her home, that used to be friendly, and now is becoming full of Hazards. Wouldn't it be good to get used to some things now?

What do I know

I also met the lady who said she was Hebrew, and thought that I  was. There's something about my  way of doing things, that makes people say that.

And it's not just the Muslim I know that asks me that, again, when he's annoyed with me. There's something more to it.

I told her that I wasn't, but that I study the Hebrew Bible and her eye is glazed over, so we talked about something else.

I guess she sees Hebrew more as a race, and less as a set of beli efs.efs. of iefs of set s a as a as ess ess ess ess and and and ce, ce, ce, ce, s a ace ace as a as ees ees ees ees ess ess ess ess ess ess ess ess ble. me.with me ith yed e's e's hen hen in, in, in, in, in, at, at, at, at, hat, me s me me hat hat hat hat now now now now now m I lim lim the the the the ust ust ust not not not not not not not t's t's

I've always wondered

About lawn blowers, blowing grass clippings into the street.

Are the grass clippings more acceptable in the street then on top of live grass?

Today I saw a new thing.

Twice, I saw a pickup truck with a leaf blower tied to the back of it, blowing clippings out of the street and toward the median.

And a little further away, workers were using leaf blowers to blow clippings away from the grassy medians into the street.

The only one who doesn't know

She is wearing Very short shorts and talking about the time she met her manager, when she was wearing shorter ones.

She's cursing A lot and loud.

She's got really long hair, which is swinging back and forth to draw attention to herself.

She just came back from behind the counter, where she was yelling and now she's threatening to quit if they don't pay her for what she's already worked.

There's also something being said about the raise. What a surprise, she hasn't had a raise yet.

Threatening to quit is really not in her best interest at this time.

The plane

took off without you. And it didn't even care.

There's something I forgot to tell you, but I'll know it when I see you.

For now they are clouds above and underneath expanses of the blue sky.

I hate it when

parents try to get their kids to behave in public.

It might be mostly me, because I'm sensitive to the issue, this is a real possibility. But, it seems to me like when strangers see me they think they need to be respectable. And this makes parents try to whip their kids into shape, which is so annoying. If you're in a public place, when a parent can see a child, is it a problem for the kid to be a few steps away, or going to a different table  in the restaurant that's not occupied?

Yo

Wow, look withat text-to-speech just did?

To skip or laugh if it's not a particularly quiet place? So great about respectability?

What they are teaching, without knowing it, is that the world is a scary place and you must stay within Arm's Reach of your parent at all times or there's a crisis. Which is the exact opposite of what a parent is supposed to do, which is to teach the Kid 2 get along in the world without them.

Eating? And why are parents always try to force their kids to eat?

Look around, do you see anybo is parents  should have told  them to eat?

I don't. I don't think there's hardly anybody who doesn't eat too much. At least that's my feeling today.
