Mansfield Monroe

Just read a quote on a YouTube video that said Jayne Mansfield felt that Marilyn Monroe had abandoned the ordinary man by fleeing to New York and the Actors Studio and working with Olivier.  I have to admit that The Prince and The Showgirl isn't a big part of the Marilyn legend. It always seems sad to me that Clark Gable would get a new woman for Mogambo (Trading Harlow for Ava Gardner) and Olivier would trade in Vivian Leigh from The Sleeping Prince theatre for Monroe in the movie.  So many important details are left out of the Monroe legend, especially the fact that she was rehired for the movie and given a raise at the very end of her life that it's clearly a deliberate deception.
