The strips are a little hotter than spicy Popeyes chicken (the best flavor on the planet) and they come with a new Ranch sauce that is also hot and peppered.
Popeyes also has the best sauces. Mardi Gras Mustard is my favorite. But they also have Blackened Ranch and a regular Ranch, and a few I have not tried. The sauces are great to dip a biscuit into.
Here in Central Florida, receipts from Popeyes come with a special offer to use on the next visit. When you buy a large drink; in an unwieldy thin plastic cup too big for most cup-holders, you receive a biscuit and 2 pieces of chicken; spicy or mild, white or dark. They don't even charge extra for white meat. The deal isn't quite a whole meal; no side, but it's the chicken I want, not the side.
Popeyes sides include green beans; rarely available with any fast food, mashed potatoes with a delicious gravy, red beans and rice or cajun rice. They're all good. Sometimes the fries and mashed potatoes are great. Sometimes the fries are hot and fresh, and it seems as if sometimes the mashed potatoes are more real than at most restaurants: I'm not sure how they are made.
If I had known that the $3.99 deal included a side, I would have tried it earlier. Who knows how long this promotion will last.
